What is NAD+?

NAD+ is an acronym for Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a critical co-enzyme existing naturally in all living cells where it contributes significantly to over 500 biological pathways.

Why do you need NAD+?

NAD+ is essential in the Krebs Cycle, which turns food molecules into energy. It enables DNA repair and cellular regeneration. NAD+ also works with the neuro-transmission of signals between neurons (including in the brain).

Lower levels of NAD+ result in your cells not being able to metabolise as much of the food molecules as may be needed, making less energy available for you to use. As cells replicate, DNA is damaged and, without repairing this damage, copies of this damage can be passed on to future replications of the cells. Without the NAD+ supporting neurotransmission between cells, so the signal generated by one neuron is not passed on as efficiently as possible to the next, leading to a weaker, slower signal. These slow signals add up to cognitive slowing and even cognitive decline.

How can people take NAD+?

The DIYNAD+ Pen is the first sub.cut. auto-injector pen for NAD+. It precisely administers the right amount of NAD+ 4mm under the skin… which is exactly where the fatty layer is. This fatty layer has fewer nerves than muscle and a slower blood flow, resulting in significantly less painful injection. The dose is small and administered every other day to build up and then maintain your healthy NAD+ levels.

When & how often should you top-up your NAD+ levels?

Enhance NAD+ levels with the DIYNAD+ Pen. We have designed our product to be used every other day. For best results, consider taking NAD+ in the morning.

What should you expect to feel?

Your experience will be unique to you and depends on many factors, especially your current NAD+ levels, age, alcohol consumption and more. Many customer experience the following:

  1. Day 1: 15-30 minutes after the first injection, some customers report a substantial boost in “nervous energy” which has been described both as “waking up like a bucket of cold water to the face” and also “like having 1/2 a cup of coffee too much”. You may feel a tingling sensation for a few minutes in your fingertips and you may also feel warm. These feelings will subside and are totally normal.
  2.  Days 2, 3 and 5: As your body adjusts to the boost in NAD+, so the feelings you experienced on day 1 are likely to decrease with each dose. You will continue to feel the elevated focus and energy, but it will be less “nervous energy” and more productive energy. You should see athletic performance enhancements as well as recovery speeds from exercise improve. You may also experience a decreased strength of cravings for certain food types, alcohol and nicotine.
  3. Days 7-30: Each injection will bring your NAD+ levels up until, over time, your body reaches its natural optimum level. At this point, the NAD+ injections are simply topping up and the difference between before and after the injection will be less pronounced. You should feel an enduring energy and focus compared to before you started using your NAD+ pen and your exercise and recovery rates should remain elevated.

Are the side effects with NAD+?

The majority of individuals do not encounter any adverse effects from using NAD+.

Should you experience any sensitivity after using the micro-injectables, consider selecting a different site on your body for the next injection. As with any side effect, if symptoms continue, cease use and get in touch with our team.

Are there any contraindications for using NAD+?

Yes, NAD+ may not be suitable for individuals with the following conditions:

  • Active or historic Cancer
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Lyme disease
  • Recent skin graft
  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Immunosuppression
  • Organ transplant
  • Haemophilus influenza bacteria
  • Other NAD-dependent bacteria

If you have any of these conditions, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before using NAD+.

What to do if I bruise?

If you develop a bruise after an injection, fear not. Employ these helpful strategies to bring you quick relief:

If you feel pain immediately after injecting, apply gentle pressure on the site to help prevent the development of a bruise. Do not massage or rub the injection site, as this will make the bruise worse. Treat the affected area with ice. Do not inject the NAD+ supplement on or near the site until the bruise has healed completely. If the pain is significant, contact your doctor and medical team.
